SYDNEY: An Israeli student was killed in an attack late night in Australia. During the incident, she was talking to her sister on the phone. The police gave this information on Thursday (January 17th). The police has urged the public to help find out the killer of 21-year-old Aiia Maasarwe, whose body was found near the campus of Melbourne University on Wednesday morning where he was studying.
In Melbourne, Detective Inspector Andrew Stamper told reporters on Thursday that it was a fierce and terrible assault that killed the innocent woman who was a guest of our city. After passing out of a comedy club after midnight, Aiia Maasarwe, who had spent five months under the one-year exchange program at Melbourne’s La Trobe University, was going to the suburbs of Bundoora via tram.
The police said that she was talking to her sister on the phone, which was abroad, and then she made noises just to see something happening in the middle of the conversation. Stamper said that he (his sister) also heard the voice of falling on the phone’s ground and some different voices.
Around 50 meters away from the stop at 7 am on Wednesday morning passers-by saw his dead body. At the same stop he got out of the tram. Stamper said that at the same time it was also reported on behalf of his sister. The police did not confirm these reports that they are also investigating the sexual harassment aspect of the case, but so sure that some sex offenders are also under investigation. The students of the school are arriving in Australia.
